Falcon Slalom
Name: Giorgos Sakantaris – GR 116
FBC Center: Samos Windsurfing – FBC Samos
Favourite Board: Falcon 89
Why? This is simply the fastest board in the range !! It is easy to control in all conditions, whether here in the ramps we have outside (try race sailing overpowered in a nice 2 meter swell,
it brings incredible sensations and a new dimension to slalom itself), in small chops or on totally flat water.
The volume is very evenly distributed through the board and the rocker line keeps the board nicely low on the water, it never flies away out of control even if you are really overpowered and pushing your limits.
Gybing is also smooth and very easy for a board of this performance if you compare it to other similar boards, and when you compete, in PWA or just for fun with your friend around a buoy off the beach like we do a lot here in Samos, it is a major winning thing ! Overall, the shape and volume distribution
make the Falcon 89 a top weapon for anyone who’s addicted to speed runs and crazy sensations !
Favourite Move: flying through the last jibe of a race at full speed and look at the finishing line and the other guys behind me. In a word, showing my back !
Best Wind: 6 Beaufort
Ideal Sail: 6.8 / 7.3 North Warp
Trim Tips: Position the straps in the middle setting which helps to keep the board trimmed low on the water and under control. I have my straps large and pretty open at the front for the same reason, control by all directions.
