Flag Beach is at the start of a 6-7 km stretch of white sand with the wind blowing predominantly cross-shore. FBC Fuerteventura has about a 3 km area for kitesurfing and the kiters zone is situated upwind of the windsurfing zone. On the beach there is a very large area for kiters and also really nice learning conditions at the spot. To ensure the best learning conditions in a safe, limitless and undisturbed teaching area, kite instruction can also be carried out from a boat, with no more than 4 students to one instructor.

The best months for kitesurfing are March to November when the sea tends to be flatter and the wind consistent. During the winter months it can become too wavy and though it can be good on occasional days it cannot be guaranteed.

FBC Fuerteventura offers a rescue cover service specifically designed for kiters and we strongly advise all private kiters (people not hiring from the center) to take out this rescue cover. For just €30 you can have unlimited rescue cover for up to 15 days and this also includes board finding service.

Certificate / Licenses - FBC Fuerteventura is an IKO recognized centre which means that they teach to international recognized standards and can issue the IKO Kiteboarder card.

Courses - Kitesurf courses are run on a continual basis with groups of not more than 6 people per course. All courses include equipment and safety cover.

Beginner Course - 2 Days (8 Hours) - € 220.00

Day 1

• Introduction to kites with a look at different types and sizes.
• Rigging up (inflation, connecting lines, harness and how it works).
• Launching (off the beach).
• Landing (on the beach).
• Basic Flying movement, explanation of the window, etc.
• Getting kitted out (choosing the wetsuit, bouyancy aid, crash hat).
• Finally body dragging downwind and gaining confidence in the water.

Day 2 This day will start with another body drag session, then it's straight onto the board to practice!

• Waterstarting
• Kite recovery from the water
• Downwind sailing

Water Work – 4 hours - €140

This course is aimed at people who have done a beginner kite course elsewhere and for one reason or another were unable to complete it or feel they would like to recap on the water work to boost their confidence. They know all the theory, are competent beach flyers but just need to cover body dragging and getting on the board. NB: course only bookable if you know how to re-launch.

Board Work – 2 hours - €70

Downwind Boat Session – 2 hours - €50

Private - 1 Hour - € 50.00 (not including equipment)
