FBC PRASONISI is situated directly on a huge sandy beach on the remote southern tip of Rhodes. It truly is a windsurfing mecca. Overwhelming in its’ simplicity and expanse, it has to be seen to be believed! The Aegean and Mediterranean seas part in the summer months to reveal a large sand bank which splits the sea and connects the winter island to the mainland. Suddenly you have a playground of 2 totally different spots to enjoy!

Imagine - flat water and waves just meters apart from one another – perfect at the same time for hardcore freestylers, speed freaks and amateur wave riders. The onshore side delivers waves that break onto a sandy bottom with no current or rocks – making it safe to enjoy your wave riding and ideal for your first steps in that discipline. The offshore side delivers flat water, superb for both entry and intermediate levels, speedsters and freestylers. It is well known that on average the wind speed here is 1-2 beaufort above any other part of the island and is clean and stable as there are no local obstructions. There is plenty of room on both of the areas and safety is taken seriously with a watch tower and full rescue boat cover.

FBC Prasonisi has a huge amount of quality kit which is taken to the waters edge daily for the guests, so that your energy is saved only for windsurfing! The center has a really cool environment with hammocks, a chill out area and free sunbeds. There is a well stocked surf shop onsite. Most of the accommodation is within walking distance, or you may prefer to stay in the traditional village of Katavia 4km away. Full windsurfing instruction packages, catamaran sailing and kitesurf instruction by IKO instructors is available.

The spot has become a lot more international in the last few years thanks to the power of word of mouth. Windsurfers are coming from near and far to share this truly special scene, roots and radical yet relaxing. It’s such a special place that many surfers live onsite over long periods so there is a nice community vibe going on. The beautiful surroundings make you feel instantly relaxed and at one with nature. This is a pure beach lifestyle with sun and moonscapes that will take your breath away.
