FBC Kos – Big Blue Surf Center is situated directly on the beach at Psalidi on the north east coast of Kos , where the best freeride windsurfing conditions on the Island are to be found. Set in the sub-tropical grounds of the Oceanis Beach Resort, it enjoys extensive views of Turkey, only 15km across the water.

The FBC Big Blue Center has a very friendly, family feel to it. It’s a well equipped and organized center and operates a fixed board system. The boards are kept in the Beach Hut 5m from the waters edge, where the surfers hang out between sessions to discuss their moves and tactics! The recently extended sail area is located on the grass area just behind the hut, and someone is always on hand there to help.

The wind at FBC Kos is side/side-off shore from the left. Usually the wind is lighter in the morning when the majority of beginner courses take place. Owing to a slight wind shadow, there is a sheltered launch which makes it great for beginners and kids, as well as a stone jetty downwind of the Center to catch any drifters! The wind gradually intensifies through the day and gives way to sensational slalom blasting with swell/chops up to 1m on the outside. The water flattens off just upwind of the jetty – perfect for freestylers. In fact, FBC Kos is one of the few places in the world where all levels can practice their skills at the same time and practically all day long - beginners, intermediates and advanced! As well as the stunning views whilst sailing, the proximity of Turkey and Kos create a wind funnel system, making way to stronger winds than other spots on the island. The sailing area is large and safe, and there is dedicated Baywatch and Rescue service free of charge.

The Surfers Bar on site is always very popular with the guests and is open every day serving cold drinks, snacks and cocktails at the waters edge. It stays open into the night and also has live music nights and beach bbq’s. All amenities are on site, including:

Recommend to bring surf shoes as there is a pebbled shore line.
